Quotation?
Letter sent by the seller stating what he can offer after the letter of inquiry is sent
Order?
The letter the buyer sends informing the seller of the goods they want, place to deliver them to,delivery date, and agreed price
Acknowledgement of order?
After the seller receives the order. He sends a note back to the customer stating
That he has received the order
He is willing to supply goods
When delivery is expected
Advice note?
Sent ahead of goods telling the buyer they are on their way
Delivery note?
Note packaged with the goods stating goods in package aka receipt
Invoice ?
Sent from seller to buyer telling buyer how much they owe the seller
Stating: number of goods
Individual prices
Total amount owed
Error and omission?
Letters e and oe are placed at the bottom right of a receipt telling the buyer that the seller reserves the right to change anything in the receipt
Pro forma invoice?
Invoice sent before goods are delivered
Credit and debit note?
Note sent from buyer to seller noting some price reduction
Statement of account?
A reciept sent to the buyer at the end of the month summing up all the business they had during the month giving an overall cost
Estimate?
Estimated price of a product or service given to buyer
Contract?
Agreement stating conditions of buyer and sellers arrangement
Trade discount?
Amounted deducted from buyers invoice to allow persons in his trade to make a sale from the goods
Cash discount?
Amount deducted from invoice to encourage payment do debt
Net
When paying for goods no discount allowed
Carriage paid?
Seller pays transport cost
Carriage forward
Buyer pays transport cost
Vat?
Tax imposed by gov on products and services
Remittance note?
When buyer doesn’t wish to pay all the money on a receipt he sends a note stating the money paid and which invoices he wants to pay
What is the letter of inquiry
A letter sent to a seller requesting info
Eg. Details on product, price, delivery period
