Track Usage Doc Colors Flashcards
Red font
Activity in question is cancelled for that particular night. Sometimes a whole row can be shown in red (which would mean the entire usage is cancelled for the week)
Gold font
Change to the approved. Once a change is initiated, copy the existing row (will be one of the original black fonted outages) and delete all information that does not pertain to the change. For example say on the weekly we requested to replace ties on track 1 123-124 on Monday and Wednesday nights but Monday night the job is actually on track 2. I would copy the approved row, remove the Wednesday night X in the new row and in the approved row I would change the font color to yellow for Monday night. This tells me something changed in the approved usage for Monday night. This also leads to green fonts
Green font
Addition. So in our previous example, for that new line that only shows Monday night, I would change the track number to two in green font. If an outage is new altogether, I would show the entire thing in green font. Lastly you could show in the original row something in green to signify a change that applies to the whole row (like adding a train number that the outage can be granted after)
Light blue font
Emergency. Think broken rail or welding or something of that. I don’t always capture these but I try to.
Light green font
When someone adds something without telling me. This doesn’t happen often but I like to know when people aren’t following the rules.
Purple font
Used during the drafting process. I change any old outage to purple font to signify that the person in question has requested the same outage (think capital projects who last months). With this method you get man duplicate rows so by showing the original request in purple it helps me when I delete all the rows that weren’t requested.
