Scotland and Wales borders.
Who ran the Marcher Councils?
Local aristocracy and nobility.
Why was the Council of the North re-established? (3)
Remote, poor communications, constant threats from Scotland.

Heard lower-level civil cases, met 4 times a year, served for life unless removed etc.
What were the roles of Lord Lieutenants?
One placed in every county, oversaw preparations and helped gather an army for the Queen, influential men in the country.
When was the Amicable Grant?
1525.
What did the Amicable Grant involve and why was it disliked?
It involved raising taxes outside of parliament to help fund Henry’s wars- people disapproved as it meant raising taxes.
When was the Pilgrimage of Grace?
1536-37.
When was Kett’s Rebellion?
1549.
