What are narcotics?
Any psychoactive compound with sleep-inducing properties
What are hallucinogens?
A psychoactive agent which can cause hallucinations, perceptual anomalies and other substantial subjective changes in thoughts and emotion
What are depressants?
A drug that lowers neurotransmission levels, which is to depress or reduce arousal or stimulation
What are stimulants?
Drugs including those that increase activity of the body, or drugs that are pleasurable and invigorating
What are anabolic steroids?
Testosterone derivatives that promote the growth and repair of various tissues throughout the body

A form of dependence that involves emotional-motivational withdrawal symptoms (state of unease, dissatisfaction, reduced capacity of pleasure
What is physical dependence?
When a person experiences actual physical symptoms (anxiety, depression, aches, sweating, nausea, vomiting) from drug use or withdrawal

What drugs cause a physical dependence?
Heroin, Methamphetamine
What are some side effects of anabolic steroids?
Severe acne, oily skin and hair, hair loss, liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease, altered mood, irritability, increased aggression
Why do diabetics have glucose in their urine?
Diabetics frequently have elevated levels of glucose in the blood stream. With increased amount of glucose needed to be reabsorbed into the body, not all glucose can be reabsorbed. This leads to glucose in the urine
