positive:
- national trust run a bus from Malham to settle so locals can do shopping there
- bus reduces congestion and car park
- tourism opens services for the locals
negative:
- visitors cause congestion and park in small streets which upsets the locals
- declines in tradition and tradition shops
- news agents now sell gifts not local needs
