A

Costa Del Sol- by 1990s, was in decline. Government has been successful in rejuvenating the area

Reasons for growth- favourable climate, huge sandy beaches, modern airport, mass invasion of large scale developers, package holiday industry

Benefits- New roads, 70% work in tourism- jobs, some beaches have the Blue Flag status, Nature reserves, modern airport

Costs- Jobs are low paid and temporary, increases in crime, local culture now just a tourist show- flamenco, water supplies under pressure, unemployment risen by 30%

Reduce impact- high rise buildings, trees planted, building of luxury golf courses and villas has been encouraged- attracts different types of holiday makers to improve image

A

Kenya

Reasons for growth- tropical climate, scenery, national parks, activities-safaris, hiking ect

Benefits- Jobs-guides, infrastructure developed-airport, roads, creates a market for local farm produce

Costs- National Parks- litter, buses cause soil erosion, Corals damaged. Tourists do not dress appropriately- Muslims. Rowdy behaviour. Masai tribe are forced out of parks

Reduce impact- New buildings can not be higher than palm trees, tourists encouraged to stay in locally owned hotels, more money for tourist police to improve security
