Cervical Traction
Sit behind client, hands at the base of their occiput. Anchor fingers and place traction
Cervical Traction with downward rotation of the thorax
sit behind client, cervical traction until client has to continue cervical nod on their own. One hand to the stream to encourage downward rotation of the thorax
Neck Stretch
all springs on the reformer, client hold single strap till tension is in the arm. Reach head away from the strap.
Coracoid Curl
thumb on the coracoid and fingers wrapped under armpit. Lift the coracoid up and around and pull scapula down
Pec Minor Release
on Cadillac, pulling elbows wide on roll-down bar. Three fingers on Pec minor attachment, diagonally drag
Humeral Suction
Locate head of the humerus in pincher fingers. Gently glide humeral head keeping scapula still
Arm spiral
in weight bearing, assist humerus in external rotation and distally pronate the forearm
Humeral Press
two fingers under the head of the humerus while in tricep press. Cue to keep pressure into the fingers
Slinky
On the Cadillac, push through bar sprung from above. Hands to first/second rib and one hand to the corresponding back rib. diving through with guided assistance
Thoracic Arch
Any position of extension. Hand to first/second rib and one to corresponding back rib. Encourage upward rotation of the thorax
Lat Trap Drag
Side-lying on the barrel with the top arm reaching overhead. pull superior angle of the scapula down and inferior angle towards the armpit to upwardly rotate
Cumberbund Release
Side-lying on the barrel. Standing behind the client, separate ribcage and iliac crest by pulling them away from each other
Abdominal Monitoring
In any abdominal exercise. Place thumb and index finger on the lower abdomen. Should “smile”, tissue moving laterally towards hip points; if not only rectus abdominus is engaged it will stay soft to either side
Gyro Hold
Any twisting exercise. Behind or to the side of the client, assisting the twist on the exhale
Spine Massage
any position in which the client has to stabilize their core. From spinous process move laterally
