Parents Failure to Supervise
A
A parent is liable for failing to supervise or control a minor child who commits harm if parents (1) had the ability to control/supervise the child and (2) must have known or had reason to know that the child needed to be controlled or supervised. If parents knew of a dangerous or reckless propensity of their child and had the ability to supervise the child but failed ot do so, a negligence action could succeed against the parents.
