Origin: Sternal end of the clavicle, sternum, ribs 1-6
Insertion: Tubercle of the humerus
Action: Flexes humerus at the shoulder, rotates humerus medially, adducts humerus

Origin: ribs 3-5
Insertion: coracoid process of the scapula
Action: depresses scapula, rotates scapula downwards

Origin- ribs 3-5
Insertion: Greater tubercle of the humerus
Action: rotates scapula upwards, protracts scapula
Serratus Anterior
External Intercostals
Origin: inferior border of ribs
Insertion: vertebral border of the scapula
Actions: elevates ribcage

Internal Intercostals
Origin: Superior Border of the ribs
Insertion: inferior border of the ribs
Actions: depresses rib cage
Internal Intercostals
External Oblique
Origin: ribs 5-12
Insertion: linea alba, pubic crest of the pubis, pubic tubercle of the pubis, iliac crest of the ilium
Action: flexes and rotates vertebral column, compresses abdomen
Internal Oblique
Origin: lumber fascia, iliac crest of the ilium, inguinal ligament
Insertion: linea alba, pubic crest of the pubis, ribs 9-12
Internal Oblique
Iliacus
Origin: Iliac fossa of the ilium , ala of the sacrum
Insertion: lesser trochanter of the femur
Action: flexes thigh at hip, flexes trunk
Iliacus
Psoas Major
Origin:: transverse processes of the T12-L5
Insertion: lesser trochanter of the femur
Action: flexes thigh at hip, flexes trunk laterally
Psoas Major
Trapezius
Origin: Occipital bone, spinous processes of C7-T12
Insertion: lateral ⅓ of clavicle, spine of scapula, acromion process of the scapula
Action: Elevates scapula, depresses scapula, roates scapula, adducts scapula.
