It would ensure all children receive a balanced meal every weekday, would help to deep-root healthy eating in Scottish citizens from a young age.
Why is a ‘fat-tax’ not the best solution?
May help to minimise the amount of fatty food/drink consumed but the threat of it becoming a regressive tax and negatively impacting low income families is high.
Why is encouraging physical activity not the best solution?
It would potentially benefit the wellbeing of Scottish citizens but it does not affect the amount of unhealthy food consumed in Scotland.
Unhealthy food is the biggest factor in obesity.

The BBC is a public service broadcaster which is somewhat linked to the government - impartial news gatherer.
Less likely to be bias and is more reliable.
Was accused of bias during the recent Scottish Independence Referendum
