Elizabeth offered titles, jobs and grants to a range of nobles because she wanted to support off them all. If she didn’t they could rebel

Her private rooms. Only her ladies do waiting or advisers were allowed in

Made up of Elizabeth’s most trusted courtiers and they offered the queen advice

Secretary of State 1572-1590. He was a well educated lawyer and a puritan, Protestant

Why was Robert Devereux banned from court?
Essex was sent to Ireland to defeat a rebellion, but instead made peace with the rebels against Elizabeth’s orders
Why was Robert Devereux executed?
He tried to rebel against Elizabeth however the privy council heard of the attack and shut it down. Essex was executed for treason 1601

John Stubbs was a puritan who published a pamphlet criticising Elizabeth’s ongoing marriage negotiations with the brother of the catholic French king
What happened to John Stubbs?
Stubbs was found guilty and sentenced to have his right hand cut off
