displacement is a distance in a given direction. and therefore it is a vector.

velocity is the speed in a given direction, in other words it is the rate of change of displacement.

velocity = displacement / time

speed = distance / time
what is instantaneous speed?
speed at a particular instance is called instantaneous speed.
equation of average speed?
total distance / total time
What does the gradient of a displacement time graph give?
velocity
In a displacement time graph when velocity is increasing what else is increasing?
acceleration

what is acceleration?
Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity.
what is the equation of acceleration?
acceleration = Δv/ Δt
(Δv = final velocity (v) - initial velocity (u) )
what is negative acceleration called?
Deceleration
what is a projectile?
projectile is the movement of an object where the only significant force acting on it is the gravitational force. ( air resistance is assumed to be 0)
