Q

Chromatography practical

A

How paper chromatography can be used to identify substances.
1. Use a pencil to draw a line across a piece of chromatography paper.
2. Dip it in water and watch it fill the paper.
3. Dry the paper and you will be able to identify the different colours as they will stop going up the paper at different points.

Q

Le Chatelier’s Principle

A

Idea that if you change the conditions of a reversible reaction at equilibrium, the system will try to counteract that change.

Q

Examples of Le Chatelier’s Principle

A

If you decrease the temperature, the equilibrium will move in a exothermic reaction to produce more heat.
