Growth process of long bones
A
Long bones grow primarily via elongation of the diaphysis w. Epiphysis at each end of the growing bone.

Where on longs bone is articular cartilage found?

End of the epiphyses are covered with articular cartilage also known as hyaline cartilage

Two bone types
A
Spongy- has spaces within that store red bone marrow in older horses. Generally short, flat irregular shaped bones and epiphyses of long bones.
Compact- found on outer layer of all bones. Protection to inner spongy bone and blood vessels
