CAPS?
A
Cognitive affective personality system: we need to understand the person, situation and the person-situation interaction, to understand that behaviour is a result of individual perception of oneself in a situation. NOT a global personality trait.

The five person variables (Mischel)
A
C= Competence- intellectual capabilities + social skills. E= Encoding- Different perceptions of a specific event e.g. what may be threatening to you, may be challenging to another person. E= Expectencies- the expected results of different behaviours that are realized by the person inside his own mind. S= Subjective values- value of each possible outcime of various behaviours. S= Self-regulatory systems- groups of rules and standsrds that people adapt in order to regulate their behaviour.
