Q

How did Roosevelt revolutionise Federal Government Involvement and Responsibility with the New Deal ?

A

Roosevelt’s New Deal shifted the role of the federal government to direct involvement and action to combat the effects of the Great Depression. It set the precedent that the federal government was responsible for the welfare of its citizens in emergencies of national scale. The New Deal implemented welfare programs which established a social safety net. This direct intervention and aid was seen as controversial particularly after the actions of Hoover but they were deemed necessary to address the widespread economic challenges that arose from the Depression.
