The role of the Australian Lawyers for Human Rights in protecting and advocating for human rights in Australia is to provide professional assistance and experience in how to deal with, bring justice to, and prevent current human rights being infringed. They promote awareness of international human rights in Australia.
An example of this is that the institution provides a mechanism where their lawyers voluntarily serve as a barrister or legal expert for those who have had their human rights infringed and cannot afford to seek professional assistance.
Another example of this is that they utilise their experience and expertise in the legal field to scrutinise current laws and human rights infringements to create a more just and equitable world for Australians and all people to live in.
