It associated Jews with bad jobs to make people dislike then with people not wanting to give money away. The catholics were not aloud to do the jobs, making Jews have to do the jobs. This rose the antisemitism on Jews and dislike became very strong

A

Before reformation church and state were connected so it was hard to tell the difference between the two. Catholic bishops installed emperors and kings. The same emperors and kings then protected the church and its ministers so rebelling against the church was like rebelling against the king

Why did the inquisition happen in Spain and who set it up

A

About 200,000 Jews lived in Spain. The king and queen, Ferdinand and Isabella thought the Jews were a danger. And so, they began a campaign against them.
There was also many Muslims in Spain. The kingdom of Granada. Was ruled by the Muslim moors.
Ferdinand and Isabella were worried that the moors would join with the Muslim Ottoman Empire and stop there trade.
They wanted the land and wealth of Granada and also get rid of the Muslims and jews

Infamous inquisitor general. He was appointed by king and queen of Spain. Torquemada was a Dominican friar (monk). He served as confessor to queen Isabella. Over 100,000 people were sentenced to death as heretics under his jurisdiction

A

An army of ‘soldiers of Christ’ was made to march across Europe as a crusade to defend Constantinople and conquer Jerusalem. Approx 60,000 began the near 5,000km march. Some ate human flesh, dogs and rats to survive. After 4 year journey only 15,000 survived. They still managed to conquer Jerusalem

Christian’s also believe when they help other Christians they are also doing gods work a good example of this in the bible is “Matthew 25:40” this illustrates the idea that when helping others we are helping and supporting god
