What is GDP?
The total value of goods and services produced in an economy in a given period of time
(Gross domestic product)
Why is GDP a useful indicator?
It gives info about the size of an economy and how well the economy is performing
Disadvantages of GDP as an indicator
Does not include non-market transactions
Does not indicate if the nations rate of growth is sustainable
Does not show a degree of income inequality in society
Doesnt show reasons for amount of GDP
