What does a script writer do?
A script writer creates a screenplay using either a word processor or specialist screenwriting software.
What does an animator do?
An animator works on animation
This may be 2D or 3D using a computer, hand-drawn
or stop-motion.
They may be working on a full feature film or a cartoon.
A director will oversee their work.
There will typically be a team
of animators as it is a time
consuming process.
What does a content creator do?
Content creators create many different media assets.
These could include short videos,
photographs and images
that are suitable for
sharing on social media.
What does a copy writer do?
A copy writer creates copy (text) that engages, entertains, informs or educates the reader.
What does a web designer do?
A web designer is responsible for the look and feel of a web site.
What technical roles are there?
Camera operator
Sound editor
Audio technician
Video editor
What are the two roles that apply to website and games production?
Games programmer / developer.
Web developer.
What does a camera operator do?
Camera operators will work under
the Director of Photography (DoP).
They are responsible for
operating the camera equipment
What does a video editor do?
A video editor takes all the different footage from filming selecting the best shots and putting
them together.
What does an audio technician do?
An audio technician will be responsible for
microphone set up and recording sound.
What does a games programmer and web developer do?
They write the computer code for the game that controls objects that appear on the screen and how the player interacts with them.
A web developer writes the
computer code for a website.
What does a director do?
The director oversees the
creative direction of a production.
They work in all stages of production
from storyboarding to film crew and
actors then editors in post-production.
