Business Function
A specific subset of the organisation that is designed to perform a particular task that contributes to the organisation achieving its objectives.
Business Process
Any set of interlocking activities that work together, across the organisation, to achieve some predetermined organisational goal, which is typically defined around satisfying customer needs.
Business Process Redesign
The task of changing the operation of a business process in an organisation.
Business Process Re-engineering (BPR)
The fundamental rethinking and radical redesign of business processes to achieve dramatic improvements in critical contemporary measures of performance, such as cost, quality, service and speed.
Functional Perspective
A view of organisational design that emphasises hierarchical reporting roles, narrowly specified worker roles and an emphasis on departments.

Technology used to handle information and aid communication.
