A group of similar cells that work together to carry out a particular function, it can include one type of cell.

A group of different tissues that work together to perform a certain function.

A group of organs working together to perform a particular funtion.
What is the role of bile in the digestive system?
The role of bile in the digestive system is to absorb fats and fat soluble vitamins in the small intestine.
What side does deoxygenated blood pass through and what are the parts called?
The right side carries deoxygenated blood and passes through the Aorta, vena cava, right atrium,valve and right ventricle.
what side does oxygenated blood pass through and what parts?
The left side and through the pulmonary vein, left ventricle and valve
what is the function of the salivary glands and pancreas?
Produces food juices
what is the function of the stomach?
digests food
what is the function of the small intestine?
digest and absorb soluble food
what is the function of the large intestine?
Aborbs water from undigested food, producing feces
what is the small intestine specially adapted to do?
absorb broken down particles of food

To allow absorption to happen quickly and efficiently

the lock and key theory is where people think the enzyme is like a lock and the substrate is like a key and only one enzyme can change into a particular substrate
What is the function of the heart?
To pump blood round the body
what muscle is the heart made up of and why?
cardiac muscle because it needs to beat for a lifetime
what is blood made up of?
55% Plasma
1% white blood cells and platelets
45% Red blood cells
how many cells thick are capillaries and why?
one cell thick so osmosis can happen easier
