What are the three main sections of the brain?
A
Cerebrum, Cerebellum, Brain stem

What are the four main lobes in the brain?
A
- Frontal lobe
- Parietal lobe
- Temporal lobe
- Occipital lobe

What does the Cerebrum control?
A
Speech, Memory and thoughts. Also our conscious actions like walking, running and speaking.

What does the Cerebellum control?
A
Controls balance and coordinates complex muscle actions. We can walk and kick balls without falling over due to the cerebellum’s coordination.

What does the Brain stem control?
A
Controls our unconscious thoughts, including breathing, heart rate and digestion.

What part of the brain connects directly to the spinal cord?
A
The brain stem

What is the importance of the spinal cord?
A
- Relays messages from the brain to different parts of the body causing them to respond
- Sends messages from sensory nuerons to the brain
- Responsible for reflex actions
