What are the security measures required for water storage tanks?
A
- Only authorised persons have access to the storage tanks and the premises housing the storage tanks
- Storage tanks and the premises housing the storage tanks are properly locked
- Regular checks are conducted to ensure no unauthorised person and that it is properly locked
- Proper records are kept regarding persons granted access and also of the checks carried out. These records must be readily available for PUB’s inspection
- PUB must be notified immediately of any unauthorised access

What must the Licensed Plumber certify during his cleaning & disinfecting?
A
- The water storage tank is fit and safe for the storage of water for human
consumption - The water contained in the water storage tank is free from contamination
or pollution and that there is no likelihood of such contamination or pollution - Water samples taken from the tank pass the appropriate chemical and bacteriological examinations
- The water storage tank is properly maintained
- There is no leakage and no likelihood of leakage in the water service installation, including the water storage tank
