What are the security measures required for water storage tanks?

Answer 1

1. Only authorised persons have access to the storage tanks and the premises housing the storage tanks
2. Storage tanks and the premises housing the storage tanks are properly locked
3. Regular checks are conducted to ensure no unauthorised person and that it is properly locked
4. Proper records are kept regarding persons granted access and also of the checks carried out. These records must be readily available for PUB’s inspection
5. PUB must be notified immediately of any unauthorised access

What must the Licensed Plumber certify during his cleaning & disinfecting?

Answer 2

1. The water storage tank is fit and safe for the storage of water for human
   consumption
2. The water contained in the water storage tank is free from contamination
   or pollution and that there is no likelihood of such contamination or pollution
3. Water samples taken from the tank pass the appropriate chemical and bacteriological examinations
4. The water storage tank is properly maintained
5. There is no leakage and no likelihood of leakage in the water service installation, including the water storage tank
