Topic 14: Orbital Blood Vessels Flashcards
Name branches of ICA & ECA
ICA- OA
ECA- facial artery, infraorbital artery
Name branches of OA (7)
Central retinal artrey
Lacrimal artery
Ciliary arteries
Supraorbital
Muscular arteries
Medial palpebral artreues
Supratrochkear
Strctures that central retinal artery supplies
Inner retina
NOTE: passes through lamina cribosa and pierced optic nerve sheath branching superiorly and inferiorly. These branches dvide further into nasal and temporal branches, continuing to branch within retinal NFL
Lacrimal artrey supplies?
Eyelids, conjunctiva, lacrimal glands
Ciliary arteries?
Short Posterior branches - sclera, choroid, ON (circle of haller zinn)
Long posterior branches - anterior sclera, choriod
Anterior cikiary (muscular run forward)- conjunctiva, cornea, episclera
Long posteiror and anterior (anastomose as MAC)- iris and ciliary body
Supraorbital
Forehead muscles & eyebrow
Partly SR, SO, LPS, OO
Musucular
EOM & LPS
Medial palepbral
Eyelids
Supratrochlear
Forehead muscles & eyebrow
What does ECA supply partially
Facial - eyelids
Infraorbital/maxillary - IO, IR, lower lids
