LAN
(Local Area Network): Covers a small area (e.g., home, school).
WAN
(Wide Area Network): Covers a large geographical area, like the internet.
Network Topologies: Mesh
Mesh: Every device connects to multiple others.
Pros: Reliable and fault-tolerant.
Cons: Complex and expensive to set up.
Network Topologies: Star
Star: All devices connect to a central switch/hub.
Pros: Fast, if one device fails others are unaffected.
Cons: Expensive due to cabling.

Router: Directs data between networks (e.g., your home and the internet).

Switch: Connects devices in a LAN, directing data to the correct recipient.
HTTP/HTTPS
For accessing websites.
FTP
For file transfers.
TCP/IP
Protocol suite for communication over the internet.
DNS (Domain Name System)
Translates domain names into IP addresses.
Encryption
Secures data by converting it into unreadable text, only decipherable with a key.
