Topic 10 - Equilibrium Flashcards

1
Q

Defiition of Dynamic Equilibrium

A

Dynamic equilibrium occurs when the forward and backward reaction are occuring at the same rate. The concentrations of he reactancts and the products stay constant and the reaction is contnuous.

How to calculate Kc (4 Steps)

A
  1. Write equation
  2. Draw table to amount of moles used
  3. Calculate concentration at equilibrium ( conc = moles/vol)
  4. Plug in values to equiation.

Q

Effetcs on Kc and Kp

A

Kc and Kp only chnage with temperature.

The larger the Kc the greater the products. If Kc stays small we say the equilibrium favours the reactants.
