Explain muslim beliefs about god
-They think it is there duty to pray to Allah at least 5 times a day.
-They think when praying they become closer to Allah
Explain the role of mosques in muslim communities
This is because;
-they rekindle their spirituality
-strengthen their relationship with their Creator,
-meet their Muslim brethren
-renew their sense of belonging
Name two key features of a mosque and there importance
-prayer times, they’re clocks that show the mosque prayer times, in Ramadan they might also show the time of sunrise and sunset
-prayer mat, they’re often joined together in one big carpet. They give muslims their own space to pray. They all face the same way shoulder to shoulder

-a dome, this reminds muslims about the beauty of the whole universe Allah has created. They remember this when they pray
-wudu area, this is where muslims wash before they pray. This is a symbol that they’re cleaning their minds of all their everyday thoughts so they’re focusing on Allah.

Dislike of or prejudice against Islam or Muslims.

What is the first pillar
Pillar 1-Shahadah (faith)
-A declaration of faith spoken by all muslims.
-It must be spoken publicly before a person can be considered a Muslim
What is the second pillar
Pillar 2-Salat or Salah (Prayer)
-It is every Muslim’s duty to pray to Allah five times a day.
What is the third pillar
Pillar 3- Zakat (Charity)
-It is the amount of money that every Muslim who is fianacially able must pay to support people who are poor.
-Given once a year
What is the fourth pillar
Pillar 4- Sawm or Saum (fasting)
-It means fasting.
-When fasting muslims aren’t allowed to eat or drink during the hours of daylight.
What is the fifth pillar
Pillar 5- HAJJ (Pilgrimage)
-The journey to Mecca that every adult muslim should undertake at least once in their life
