Morphology
The study of the formation of something (dental arches), (reference points)
Median line/ midline
Situated in the midline/median plane of a structure
Maxilla/maxillary
Bones that form upper jaw and supports upper teeth (arch)
Mandible/mandibular
Bone that forms the lower jaw and supports the lower teeth
Occlusal plane
Invisible plane passing between mandibular and maxillary teeth when they are brought together into occlusion (closed)

Pointed or rounded eminence on the surface of a tooth

At or toward the front.
Teeth that are in the front of the oral cavity
Names:
- central incisor
- lateral incisor
- cuspid
Posterior teeth
Names of the teeth:
Directed towards/situated at the back.
Teeth that are in the back of the oral cavity
Names:
- 1st premolar/ bicuspid
- 2nd premolar/ bicuspid
- 1st molar
- 2nd molar
- 3rd molar
Primary dentition
20 baby/ deciduous teeth
Come in around 6-8 months.
Exfoliated(shed) and replaced by permanent teeth
