A
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a specialized language based on graphical representations and math, to improve communication. It’s used by engineers to translate design requirements into measurable specifications.

What is “basic hole”?
A
When the size of the hole is kept constant while the shaft size is varied to get different fits.

Three basic types of geometric tolerances
A
1) Location tolerances (position, symmetry, concentricity)
2) Orientaion tolerances (perpendicularity, parallelism, angularity)
3) Form tolerances (straightness, circularity, flatness)
