Believe that rational individuals were capable of tolerance. Locke argued in the state of nature people were able to exercise their natural rights. There may be clashes but SON lacked authority to enforce peoples rights.

A

Individuals were capable. Should be extended to intolerant acts unless it directly threatens security of others. Society is will change if majority are tolerant.

A

Argued for greater toleration of different genders and races. Barriers were illiberal attitudes which condemned women to not achieve their full potential, upheld by cultural channels which portrayed trad gender roles. This conditioned people leaving women convinced their life was determined by human nature.
