Q

First quote for paragraph 6

A

‘Heck,’ Atticus’s back was turned. ‘If this thing’s hushed up it’ll be a simple denial to Jem of the way I’ve tried to raise him… before Jem looks at anyone else he looks at me, I’ve tried to live so I can look squarely back at him”
Despite how it could effect Jem Atticus puts faith in truth
Best thing for jem is to not hide mistakes

17
Q

Second quote for paragraph 6

A

“yes sir, I understand’ I reassured him ‘Mr Tate was right.’
Atticus disengage himself and looked at me. ‘What do you mean?”
‘Well, it’d be sort of like shootin’ a mocking-bird, wouldn’t it?’”
Symbol of mockingbird (explain) parallels tom Robinson
Despite passion for justice he knows sometimes you have to bend the law
Running theme in character

18
Q

What do we learn in paragraph 6

A

This in my opinion is one of his most admirable qualities, atticus is a great lawyer who does his job with passion and determination but he knows sometimes the best thing to do is to be kind and understanding.

19
Q

Paragraph 7

A

Final reaction to character and why is he interesting

Dedication to truth and justice make him extremely admirable
I personally like him alot: example of good characterisation
Reaction to Boo killing Ewell seems surprising (why) but has been foreshadowed (Burris Ewell, small forgettable moment until u realise)
Very carefully crafted, very good mainstream character for this story
