Chords where each note is played individually (1 at a time)

Gradually gets louder
Damper pedal
The pedal on the right, allows notes to echo when keys are hit
Diminuendo
Gradually die away
Decrescendo
Gradually gets softer
Eighth notes
Rhythm worth ½ of 1 beat
Fermata
Hold the note longer than its written value
Dotted Quarter Notes
Quarter followed by a dot- rhythm worth ½ beats (usually followed by a single eighth note)
