TMS Flashcards
who directs the operations of the TMS?
The Air Traffic Control System Command Center (ATCSCC)
what is the purpose of TMS?
monitor and balance traffic flows within their area of responsibility in accordance with traffic management directives
What are the components of TMS?
Departure sequencing programs (DSP), En Route Sequencing Program (ESP), arrival sequencing program, ground delay program, ground stops
what is the job of Departure Sequencing Programs?
assigns a depature time to acheive a constant flow of aircraft departing serval airports that will fly over a common point
what is the role of En Route Sequencing Program (ESP)?
assigns departure times that will facilitate integration into the en route traffic stream
what is the role of arrival sequencing program?
is an autoated program designed to assist in sequencing aircraft detined for the same airport by assigning times for aircraft to cross the arrival metering fixes
what are ground delay programs?
- a traffic management process administere by ATCSCC whereby aircraft are held on the ground until a specified time
- Keeps aircraft clear of special use airspace.
- Keeps aircraft away from congested airspace.
what are ground stops?
- the most restrictive method of traffic management, and override all other traffic management programs
- keeps aircraft on the ground
