Types of food packaging
Conventional
Aseptic
Vaccum
Modified Atmosphere packaging
Uses plastic, cellophane, or paper in packaging food items. high risk of contamination and deteriorates easily
Conventional Method
Technique that allows liquid producs to have non refrigirated shelf life of aproximately 1 year. Consists of paperboard, and aluminum foil and are air tight.
Aseptic Packaging
Done by drawing air out of the package before sealing through the aid of vaccum sealer.
Vaccum Packaging
Involves replacing air present in the package with mixture of gasses such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and oxegen.
