What is a tissue
A tissue is a group of similar cells that work together to carry out a particular function.It can include more than one type of cell.
What are specialised cells
They form tissues which form organs which form organ systems.
E.g sperm cell.
Red blood cell
White blood cell
Examples of tissues
Muscular tissue
Glandular tissue
Epithelial tissue
Muscular tissue
Contracts to move whatever it’s attached to
Glandular tissue
This makes secretes chemicals like enzymes and hormones
Epithelial tissue
Covers parts of the body e.g the inside of a gut
Organ
An organ is a group of different tissues that work together to perform a certain function
Muscular tissue
Moves the stomach wall to churn up food
Glandular tissue
Makes up digestive juices to digest food
Epithelial tissue
Covers the outside and inside of the stomach
Organ system
Is a group pf organs working together to perform a particular function
Glands
E.g the pancreas and salivary glands produce digestive juice
