It yields relatively high qualities of sweet, pale red wine which turns amber with the madeira process then yellow green with age

It is grown at all altitudes up to 800m on all parts of the island both in the warmer south and the cooler north

Yes - it is prolific, versatile and adaptable - it can mimic the noble styles of madeira so is made the same way
