Timing Cycles Flashcards
Alert period
The portion of the timing cycle where the pacemaker should sense intrinsic cardiac activity. Alert period begins after refractory period and extends until the next paste or sensed event
Refractory period
Portion of the timing cycle that follows a paced or sensed event where the pacemaker sensing circuit is nonresponsive in full or in part to intrinsic cardiac activity
Blanking period
The portion of the timing cycle when the sensing Apple fire is temporarily disabled. The term absolute refractory may also be used. In dual chamber systems the blinking or absolute refractory period are meant to prevent cross chamber sensing or crosstalk
Noise sampling period
Portion of the timing cycle during the latter part of the roof ventricular refractory period and in some devices atrial refractory period where signals detected by the device will be interpreted as noise or interference. As noises detected, the refractory period is reset resulting in asynchronous pacing as long as the noise occurs. This period of time may also be referred to as relative refractory period
Crosstalk detection window
Portion of the time and steak on the ventricular channel immediately following the ventricular blinking. Period CDW occurs after ventricular blanking during the first person they be delay when the atrial pacing in initiated baby delay. Signals detected during the CDW will result in a ventricular triggered out that typically add a shirt and David and Leigh
