Tides and Currents Flashcards

1
Q

VTS Advisory broadcast.

A

VTS will make tidal advisory broadcasts when the height of the tide is predicted to exceed 11ft. When tides are predicted to exceed 11ft vessels should slow their speed so as to decrease the risk of wake damage. Vessels should keep a lookout for deadheads and free floating logs after unusually high tides, storms and freshets.
