How is TTP treated?

A

The principal treatment for TTP is Plasma Exchange.

Refractory cases may required Rituximab, Corticosteroids, and Splenectomy.

What causes TTP?

A

Most cases result from deficiency of the metalloproteinase ADAMTS-13.
