Sternocostal head: anterior surface of sternum, superior 6 costal cartilages, aponeurosis of external oblique
Lateral lip of the intertubercular groove of the humerus

Adducts and medically rotates the shoulder joint
Draws the scapula anteriorly and inferiorly
Clavicular head flexes shoulder joint and sternocostal extends from a flexed position
