What is clinical judgment?
An interpretation or conclusion about a patient’s needs, concerns, or health problems.
What is philosophy?
The study of general and fundamentL nature of reality, existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind and language
What are Health Beliefs?
An individual’s own perception on health
What are factors that influence health beliefs?

What is model of care?
The way health services are delivered.

How practice care and services for a person(s) as they progress through the stages of a condition, injury or event.
What is rehabilitation?
- Maximising a person’s abilities and independence
- Restoring loss of function
- Preventing new or further functional loss
- Working with other healthcare professionals
What is a chronic illness/condition?
Any disorder that persists over a long period and affects physical, emotional, intellectual, social or spiritual functioning
Define palliative:
To reduce or relieve intensity of uncomfortable symptoms, but not to produce a cure
What is a disability?
The loss, absence or impairment of physical or mental fitness
Define pathophysiology:
The study of the biological and physical manifestations of disease as they correlate with the underlying abnormalities and physiological disturbances
What are nursing interventions?
The activities that are performed by the nurse to help the patient reach the goals that are set for them
What is polypharmacy?
The use of a number of different drugs by a patient who may have one or several health problems
What are health behaviours?
An action taken by a person to maintain, attain or regain good health and to prevent illness
What is comorbidity?
Two or more co-existing medical conditions or unrelated disease processes
What are health inequities?
The differences in the distribution of health outcomes and status between population groups
What is drug toxicity?
A predictable adverse drug effect, usually dose related. (Caused by too much dosage)

A drug that will cause a congenital defect in an infant whose mother…..
What is drug tolerance?
Client develops a resistance to the effects of a drug
What is physical drug dependence?
Body becomes accustomed to a drug and body cannot function normally unless drug is present
What is pharmacokinetics?
The study of the absorption, distribution, bio transformation (metabolism), and excretion of drugs
What are pharmacodynamics?
A study of what drugs do to the body.
Refers to the relationship between drug concentration at the site of action and the resulting effect.
