Juvenile (noun)
The juvenile* went to court.
Any person under the age of eighteen who is in the juvenile justice system
Burglary (noun)
Tristan was charged with burglary* when they stole the tobacco products.
Unlawful entry onto property with the intent to commit theft or another felony.
Truancy (noun)
Jillian was charged with truancy* because she skipped school.
The act of cutting school for a minor who is legally required to be there (Usually from ages 6 to 16)
Probation (noun)
Hailey was assigned probation. Her every move was being watched.
A period of time where the juvenile is supervised by a probation officer. Probation can also be intensive for higher risk juvenile.
Probation Officer (noun) The Probation Officer** was always watching Marie.
This officer acts as the judge’s eyes and ears. They make sure the juvenile that is assigned to them is following the judge’s orders and then report back to the judge.
