What is specific heat capacity? Define it’s equation and units.

A

Specific heat capacity is the energy required to raise the temperature of a unit mass of a substance by 1K.

Cs = specific heat capacity

q = quaitity of heat supplied

m = mass of substance

deltaT = change in temperature
