Access Risk factors every 4 to 6 years (30 year or lifetime risk)
In adults 40 to 75, access 10 year risk every 4 to 6 years

Obtain complete Lp Profile.
Access risk factors
Know race/ethnicity
Would want to Know: weight, height, physical activity, diet
Risk enhancing Factors
Family History (1st degree) Primary hypercholesterolemia Chronic Kidney Disease Chronic Inflammatory Conditions Premature menopause High risk race/ ethnicity. Metabolic Syndrome
Metabolic Syndrome Requirements
Fasting glucose greater or equal to 100 mg/dl
Hdl-C < 40 mg/dl in males and <50 mg/dl in females
TGs greater than or equal to 150 mg/dl
Waist circumference > 40 inches in males or > 34 inches in females
SBP greater than or equal to 130 mmhg or DBP 85 mmhg
Lifestyle managment
Healthier Dietary patterns:
Reduction of sodium intake, reduction of red meats, DASH, USDA food pattern or AHA diet
Increased physical activity, a healthy weight
Stop smoking,
ascvd not at very high risk
Encourage Healthy Lifestyle
High intensity Statin therapy or maximally tolerated statin therapy. Goal to lower LDL-c levels by greater than or equal to 50%
