Social barriers
There are social factors that may affect someone’s ability to participate in a physical activity, such as influence of family, peers and/or religion
Personal barriers
There are personal factors that may affect someone’s ability to participate in physical activity, such as time management , age and/or gender
Physical activity
Physical activity means to mean in a way that encourages an increase in heart rate
Health related components
These components of our fitness are related to general movements in our lives, including, body composition and cardiorespiratory fitness
Skill related components
These components of our fitness are related to specific requirements for specific sports, including speed and coordination
DRSABCD
This acronym outlines the basic priority assessment procedures one should carry out when first arriving in a first age situation
Shock
This is a condition where blood supply is limited to protecting the vital organs of the body as a response to a physical and /or psychological trauma
Unconscious casualty
This is a condition where a patient has lost its normal state of consciousness and may require assistance to both breath and circulate blood
Concussion
This is a condition where the brain has suffered and injury and maybe be bruised or bleeding. This condition may be life threatening and should be treated immediately
Lifelong Physical Activity
A concept that people should be encouraged to think that participation in a physical activity is a behaviour that occurs throughout your life span
