Define Automated decision making
Computers making decisions and taking actions based on sets of pre defined rules and parameters without any human involvement
Give examples of automated decision making
-Real time Hotel room pricing
-Vineyards use remote sensors
-automated online credit checks
Artificial intelligence def
The computer science discipline of software and algorithms which appear as if they were intelligent
Issues with true AI
-exhibit conciousness?
-should it be granted rights?
-is it ethical to turn off/ terminate the program?
Who is responsible for the actions of the AI?
Issues with computer use:waste
From 2015, estimated 350,000 devices disposed of in US and Europe each day. Only 15-20% recycled.
