- Not time consuming
- Relatively cheap

-You don’t know who is filling in the questionnaire
-Low response rate- may have to send a lot out to get a good sample

-Allows for anonymous responses
-Participants can refuse to fill it in without pressure from researcher

-People may misunderstand the question
- Statistical data offers no in depth information
What is a reliability positive of questionnaires?
- High in reliability - high number of participants
-Can be sent out to different sample of people
What is a representativeness negative of questionnaires?
- If you don’t get a good response rate, representativeness is lower

- Can collect a large amount of quantitative data that can be analysed
What would interpretivists say about questionnaires?
-Not enough validity to identify any meaning

High response rate

No structure- could take a long time or go off tangent
