What is the definition of a short story?

A

A short story is a story that can usually be read in a short amount of time. It has all the features of a story but isn’t as developed.

What are the key features in a sort story?

A
  • an introduction - sets the scene + introduces the main character and setting.
  • situation - problem, conflict or situation that main character must solve, explained in second paragraph
  • 1-2 events - will be explained + help develop the plot and prepare for climax, main character gets closer to solving problem.
  • climax - main character solves problem.
  • conclusion - brings story to an end, explains how all pieces of story have come together.
