Child is active and mobile but seemingly aimless; no sense of others play
What is- Onlooker Behavior?

Child attends to others’ play may speak with players but does to participate

What is - Parallel play

Child plays beside or near others, but not with them; no sharing or conversation
What is Associative Play
Parten
Child plays with others, conversing, sharing materials but purposes of play may not be similar.
Cooperative Play (Parten)
Goals of play are shared and negotiated; tasks and roles relate to plays purpose group sense is marked by turn-taking, common goal or game
